It has been now 3 days since my arrival and life has been smooth but worrying abit. Nothin so scary to worry about cause the people here are very nice and helpful. It is just some decision making and searching for housing and a car.
Now let us go back to the whole journey.....
Dubai-Heathrow
On the same day of leaving home, it just didn't feel like i will be leaving or maybe it didn't feel right to leave that day.. funny enough things weren't so smooth too: my best friend couldn't hang with me that day, but well she passed by and said goodbye which made us tear:( I miss her so much... Then I had to rush to get traveler check, ma tickets, n get done with packing which ended me up having an overweight of about 4 KGs ONLY!! n they wanted me to have it back to 32 which made me get frustrated... (well i did regret a bit getting a lot of stuff but HEY am staying for a year heheheheh n still arabian spices are to be sent later on:P)
N then Eric was late to show up especially with him being there for every trainee, so I go so worried that I would be ignored.. but thank God I wasn't or else I'll end up being so sad knowing that noone was there at the airport to say bye..
Heatrhow-Detroit
First I had to stay 7 hours transit which was BORING!!!! but did cruise around and had breakfast n did a lot of missin friends and family back home..
But LUCK was there for me... I and another guy beside me were upgraded to business class and were able to SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP in a BED heheheh dat was sooooooo cozy, but a funny thing happened to me while in the Business class.. Infront of me where two kids who where lebanese. The girl was intending to kiss her brother's hand everytime I saw them O_o which was very weird maybe because I have the Hejab. But hey they're Lebanese and you don't expect that from them !!! so I just ignored them and laughed knowing its stupid kids act hehehhehe... they were cute thou..
PS. during both flights... only snacks were distributed since the STRIKE was still on.... bad HUH?!
Detroit
I arrived n didn't have any problems with customs, it was only the luggage that i did fight carrying them since they're heavy.. well its not like back home where you can find someone to help you .. here it more of "DO IT BY YOUR OWN"... but i did ask for help from a police man:P well he was the only one infront of me and he helped:)
As I went out towards exit.... I WAS STOPPED!!!!!!!
Ohhhhh heheheheh not the police, ;) just by the gang that came to pick me up.. I was shocked a bit to have someone special waitin for me.. but felt comfortable.. it was so nice having them all there.. plus my new friend who's a trainee from Egypt.
I was a bit tired but was very excited to go around Michigan... but since it was the first day I had to rest and did spend time at the hotel with Stacey (aiesecer) and Amal (egyptian trainee).
And now here I am part of this new environment that I have to get adapted to, its difficult at first cause I need to settled down n have my housin then things would be easier to figure out and be my own self again:) but i'm enjoying it here and shall enjoy it even better when i'm used to giong around.
PS already drove once and it was funnnnnnnnnnnnn .. hehehheeh if you ever come to MI let me know can give you a drive... I still don't have an address or a mobile so once i do i shall post it in case you want to visit.
