Life "The SUN"

"The Sun plays a very vital role in almost all of our activities. However one of the major areas where the Sun's contribution is often discounted is in its promotion of health.

From the very beginning of this century people have considered the Sun as good for health. In the early 1920's the Sun was touted as a cure for all major diseases. It was a time when the phrase "recuperating in the Sun" grew popular. It was claimed that a spell in the Sun, preferably by the seaside, was a kind of magic cure all for all ailments including plague, old age, and tuberculosis.

The Sun plays a very important role in the formation of vitamin D in our body. Vitamin D is a very important vitamin and is necessary for the general well being and strength of our bones. This Vitamin is essential for our health and a major source of this vitamin is through the interaction of the Sun with certain chemicals in our body. The Sun also plays a very important role in maintaining the general health of our skin and acts like a natural disinfectant for the body. So no wonder I never adapted quickly to Michigan mainly because of Winter. Don't take it the wrong way, I do love winter and the view of the snow, but I HATE DRIVING and the gloomy weather every day where by 4.30pm the sun DIES!! Especially for someone comming from the GULF where the weather is always sunny and sometime KILLS you from the heat, but we are always smiling and enjoying life.

Now as I sit in the office and the sun reflects its warm rays into the pale walls of this small room, I feel am born again; I am ALIVE. Every day I wake up a bit sleepy, but the very first thing I do is look outside the window and see the sun. The warmth and brightness of it simply fill me with energy and a love to live life. I am no longer complaining, nor bored of work, because within me is an energy that keeps me going.

With this energy enjected in my system, I am planning many activities for the coming 4 months I have left here. I am very eager to start them, beginning this weekend up unit my very last day in Michigan, hopefully the 18th of August. But at the same time, I am sad because as I have regained my energy, many are leaving and thus i'll be here almost alone with few ppl I k now. I really wana be myself and enjoy it with those I have met, but well, it's their loss for not staying hehehehheheh .. I am going to be MYSELF ... Miss_7ashra ;)

As I look to those hard days in my journey, I smile, knowing they are over and knowing they have taught me alot. I have missed alot of activities during winter and haven't been the outgoing, get to meet person .. but well .. can't do much about it now .. except start enjoying life from now ..

WOW 4 whole months :D

Dubai MeTro

Guests were served drinks in a Dubai Metro Cafeteria and instead of lounge music, they heard announcements about train timings, stations, routes and safety measures.

Some of the announcements in English and Arabic were:

"Smoking is prohibited in trains and at all stations."

"The Dubai Metro features luxury, speed, safety and precise timings."

"The next station is Union Square, please approach the doors."

"The train has three classes including economy, VIPs and a separate women- and children-only carriage."

when would they ever understand that it is a public transportation that would take a maximum of 30 min to reach from one end of Dubai to the other. It is not a luxurious trip to France where one has the choice of picking from three classes, but rather a quick convenient transportation to and from the city. IT IS A METRO!!

They say the train would be precise in timing, thus you can't do the following...

"oh maaaaaaaan am late..." rush down the stairs, take a moment to figure out where the women only carriage is but by that time, the train moves!!

V for Vendetta

One questions with all the unending crisis in the world: health, war, hunger, anger, etc. does one has the right to take justice back especially with a governmet that is not capable of applying justice for reasons such as politics?

There is a difference btw the two words, "revenge" and "justice" in a very simple way. Revenge is simply payback in which one builds hatred that needs to be discarded otherwise would cause many social problems such as the killing of oneself or other innocent ppl in the scene. Justice is a payback for the sake of prevailing security and being fair. They say in arabic "كما تدين تدان" in other words, you deserve the punishment as you have envaded others' lives and cause an imbalance in the society.

We all are looking to stabilize this world thru justice, but if everyone was given that right, then choas would exist ... Then what solution to we have? One can be to rebuild the government to justify and prevail honesty in all action rather than personal needs ...

The movie "V for Vendetta" is very insightful in this matter, even though it doesn't answer the question but rather brings them up. It is a movie that you HAVE to watch.. It gives you the feel that with all that is going on esp the lies behind every action taken, we all know the reality behind it; BUT ....

no action is taken!!
